Excellent: Fast Moving And Well Written
Spoilers Ahead:

The highest praise that can be bestowed upon an action movie is its unpredictability. I dare anyone to tell me what is going to happen other than Valentine's eventual defeat. It is so rare, especially in today's cinema, to find a treasure, like this, that is so well written that its script is utterly fantastic. Firth, always an excellent actor, carries his role so well. The juxtaposition of his stern, conservative dress with his incredible violence and skills at wiping out rooms full of people like lightning, this gives the movie a lightness over the comic book violence that is always done as bloodlessly as possible. Even when Valentine's girlfriend / bodyguard slices and dices people it is not like 300, we do not endure buckets of blood going everywhere. The most graphic sequence, in the church, when Valentine turns the signal on that turns everybody into Dick Cheney; it is violent but the blood letting is very mild. The exploding head scene at the end, when he turns the chip on world wide is almost comic. One scene, not for kiddies, is the mother trying to Axe through the door to kill her baby. The pacing is very rare. Try finding a movie this long that moves like this. Even before Eggie is brought into the competition to be a Kingsman, there is plenty of action with some local jerks at the pub.

The hardest part of an English movie for Americans is that their accent is often very difficult to follow. Yes, I know, supposedly we speak the same language. I recommend turning your volume up as loud as you can take it. The English use phrases and idioms that are lost on American argot. The action is non stop and the movie never stops to catch its breath. There is lots of wry humor, the violence is so comical that it hardly ever causes one to take it seriously. Michael Caine does very well in a small role, but Firth steals this movie. The contrast between his mild appearance and his great violence evokes Steed from the old classic TV series The Avengers. Even amidst all the mayhem, Firth insists upon manners and protocol: kind of a violent Henry Higgins. I took two stars off for the requisite Progressive ideology that must be in every modern movie. You will spot it right away; you know, anyone who believes in God or morality is a racist Nazi. I always laugh at their intolerant tolerance. Evidently, nobody has had a logic class.

This flaw is found in almost every modern movie; try to ignore it and enjoy a rare action masterpiece worth owning. Eggie, while quite young, does an excellent job in the role. The action starts right at the beginning and does not stop until the end credits. A very surprisingly good movie. You may miss some of the English figures of speech but nothing that damages your understanding of the plot. It could be worse, with The Wind That Shakes The Barley, I had to turn the subtitles on. This is no way as bad as that or Layer Cake. An Excellent Movie.
A Hard R -- biggest disappointment of the year - KILL BILL meets SCARFACE
This is the biggest disappointment I've had at the theater in a long time, even worse than NOAH. The idea was outstanding, with the flavor of 007 James Bond from LIVE AND LET DIE days with the cool gadgets and the cheeky humor. Everyone I know wanted to see this movie. Then, they put in more cussing than SCARFACE and more blood than KILL BILL and drowned it in a Hard R that left the audience stunned and confused. If this movie had been a PG-13 for the family, it would have been the beginning of a chain of profitable and enjoyable movies for these folks. Instead they made fun of rednecks and Republicans, used the F-word as a conjunction in every sentence in the movie. Had scenes that were so brutal and out-of-place in this funny little movie, that I looked at my wife and mother and they were covering their eyes. They drowned this guaranteed winner in obscenity and blood. If you are an 18 year old Marine or just out of jail, enjoy. If you are a parent or on a date or any other member of the target audience for movies, SKIP THIS sleazy piece of poop!!!!
Not what I was expecting
I was expecting something in the way of a James Bond spoof having only seen a 30 second trailer, how wrong can you be. Instead I got a crazy, mad, violent, nutty and over the top film. It has a definite Britishness to it, it's a very smart looking production, very well acted, with some jaw dropping fight scenes, the visuals and production values are extremely high. The fights involving Sofia Boutella were just insane, she's particularly good. Some big casting, Colin Firth as always makes the perfect gentleman. It's Samuel L Jackson I particularly enjoyed, he was just so funny. Lots of violence, which if it's not your thing you should avoid. Overall, slick and very funny. The world is saved by a chav!! 7/10
Who said the traditional Bond formula is dead?!!
I was lucky enough to go to an advanced screening of Kingsman: The Secret Service. Watching the trailer a month ago made me interested to watch this movie since I'm a fan of spy movies especially the 007 movies. The movie is about a young teenager from London called "Eggsy" who is chosen by a professional agent from a super secret organisation who call themselves the "Kingsmen" to go through the deadliest "job interview" to be the next Kingsman spy.

That said I must say I was not disappointed. The action is fast-paced and there's a lot of comedy. The movie is sort of like 007 meets Men in Black. The movie obviously parodies the old traditional 007 formula especially of the Roger Moore era but this is done in a good way. Kingsman; The Secret Service reminded me how great the old 007 formula was until it was changed until Daniel Craig's portrayal of the agent. After watching this movie Daniel Craig better take notes because there is a new agent on the block and that is "Eggsy'.

That being said Kingsman: The Secret Service is the best movie of 2015 so far. Don't miss it!!!
Can't believe of the rating of this movie
I really can't believe that this movie has such a high rating in IMDb. Generally movies above 8 should be a must see ones and this one fails big time in the must see list. If you are for a mindless action movie with some bond lines from the 80s, yes this is something that you will enjoy. If however you want to see something enjoyable with nice humor and an actual interesting plot, then please don't watch this one. You'll definitely waste your time. What you get here is something that you know the end in the first 5 minutes. I mean come on, the struggle to be accepted in the high society and the movies about it was a hit 30 years ago. If you have money or you are a clever person, then you will be welcomed everywhere in the world. Also the jokes are flat and you have to be 15 years old to actually laugh. All in all you get a lousy plot with lousy lines and a so-so action with some CGI effects. Thanks, but no thanks.
Way to much violence and gore
Kingsman the secret service was a pretty standard action/spy movie that had way to much violence and gore. The plot was predictable and absurd to say the least and seemed to be mostly parodying other spy films, but with an excess of pointless violence, particularly the church scene, which emphasized how the violence was used to try and make up for the terrible plot. The use of excessive violence starts with the opening 10 minutes showing a man being sliced in half and not to mention the umpteen head shots shown in slow motion throughout the film. It all became really tiresome and made me want to stop watching to be honest. All in all a movie that will be remembered for pointless violence and nothing more. Hence, the reason it gets a 5 from me.
007 meets Kick-Ass
Kingsman: The Secret Service marks the third film in a row that director Matthew Vaughn has adapted from a comic book background. His two predeceasing being Kick-Ass (2010) and X-Men: First Class (2011) - which, by all means, were pretty damn good!

Over the last few decades, both comic and superhero movies, mostly fall into the easy trap of taking themselves too seriously. Where Vaughn's vision lies, and so-far proved by his former comic adapted films is that they draw a clean balance to where drama and serious character development ends, and cartoonish humour meets, leaving a unique entertainment that stands out.

Based on the comic by Mark Millar (who also created Kick-Ass), the film sees a young – no better way to put it – chav, called Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin (Taron Egerton), taken under the wing of Harry Hart (Colin Firth), a spy for her majesty's secret service. With the aid of Michael Caine and Mark Strong, they soon come face-to-face with the villainous Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson); an ego- centric - Steve Jobs-type - billionaire madman (with a lisp), who hates the sight of blood – yet holds a vision of mass biological warfare.

Licenced to thrill, Kingsman' is almost a love-letter to the James Bond films – but not too far as a parody, like Austin Powers - but more a homage to the franchise - a 007 meets Kick-Ass, of sorts. At a point, Colin Firth's character, Harry, even mocks the thought by saying 'give me a far-fetched, theoretical plot any day…'

Fans of Bond and Kick-Ass are certain to love it, as through rollercoasters of action, comedy and espionage, comes a bucket of winks, references and nods to the world of spy movies. Just like the colourful, gadget ridden Bond films of the 1960's, Kingsman is very fun to watch, with 'wham, bam, thank-you ma'am' style of mayhem, one- liners and bonkers soundtrack crazed all over it.

The comic the film was based on was already hugely entertaining – in fact, probably the best we have read. Littered with Millar's creative quirkiness and with Vaughn's auteur film-making, has left a stylized-spectacle of ultra-violence.

Portraying the lead character of 'Eggsy', Taron Egerton (also in this month's Testament of Youth), proves to be an outstanding newcomer as he brings the character to life with an energizing vibe of a comparing ethic of chav lifestyle vs. gentleman's class.

Alongside, and tackling the mentor, come father type role, is Colin Firth, who based on previous filmography alone could easily be classed as Britain's most boring and typecast actor. Until now, the mold romantic films is broken as he picks up a gun and finds an encyclopedia of wit and enters openly new territory. It's Colin Firth like you have never seen before! – and it is bad-ass.

Squeezing in with a 15 rating (somehow), Kingsman is never short of violence and its guts and guns galore, when kneecapping; slicing off body parts and explosions become all too familiar. Given the calibre of talent involved, Kingsman' does not fall stereotype and gimmicky like other YA spy adventures like Stormbreaker, or Spy Kids, but instead, a well-deserved mash-up of espionage and true cinematic excitement.
Total Garbage.
My faith in humanity is shaken by seeing the praise heaped on this movie by other reviewers. It is simply terrible. It can't decide if it wants to be an action movie or a spoof of an action movie. It fails badly at both while also being excessively violent and offensive. I am disappointed in Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Mark Hamill, and others for allowing themselves to be associated with this pile of dung. However, most of all, I feel embarrassed that the money that I spent to see this movie will enrich the filmmakers and increase the likelihood of something similar stinking up the theaters in the future.
What happened to this movie?!?
I don't understand how this movie got such high ratings, it's was pretty bad! I gave it two stars only because it had some good actors & the main character was hot! It started with promise, & then took a big dump! I didn't really mind the violence, but most of it was so unnecessary, dragged out and stupid! The graphics sucked, & the story line just fell apart. Just so ridiculous & unbelievable. The hero receives no training, but suddenly turns into an untouchable badass, WTF? Samuel L was just annoying, & useless. The end scene with the princess came out of nowhere & was just crude & stupid. Someone should get slapped for leaving that scene in the movie! I just can't believe what a fraud this movie turned out to be. The trailer just made it seem like a completely different movie. I really wanted to like it, I did. I'm embarrassed for everyone involved in this movie, but hey I'm sure they got paid to make this painfully bad movie!
Pure Garbage:Cheap James Bond Wannabe Film With Samuel.L.Jackson Embarrassing Himself
this is it these parody films and wannabe spy genre films has got to stop because this is what ruins the original franchise and makes fun of it shame on these people i cannot even dream about someone making fun of Sean Connery and his bond but people did it the reason is no person on this earth is cool as him Sean is not a actor but the definition of man itself period.

however this film makes fun of Pierce Brosnan 007 era films with exploding pens and gadgets etc Brosnan is a boss he redefined spy genre the makers of Kingsman should be sued for this blasphemy.

i don't care if it is rated r or pg 13 i saw this film and i got angry specially with sir Samuel.L.Jackson i lost respect for him i mean how is this classic method actor can do this film from pulp fiction to pure pg 13 garbage stuff i got exited when i saw him being funny but by the time climax came his death scene is the funniest moment in the entire film he was embarrassing himself.

just what the hell is going on these days is Hollywood running out of ideas they have same story lines over and over again repeating same thing million times what is wrong with these people kids with guns using bad language and violence for no reason even killing animals what a shameful era we are living in.

let me clear this up a bit this is not a snuff, porn or exploitation film filled with sex but even those have some bloody standard at least they are serious about it and makers know what they are making but this one is nonsense Mathew Vaughn made just one good film in his life probably his last best too it is called layer cake with Daniel Craig check that out guys if you have not but avoid this crap please.

the plot: let us look at the plot here it goes as a spy agency hires kids so they can battle evil villains who are about to destroy the world.

oh please why drag kids and teens into this kids already ruined Wrestling attitude era this is coming from a 90s kid Batista and John Cena acts in lame movies too because they still aim it for kids ala guardians of galaxy etc parents are proud of it but the hypocrisy is that people hate Kristen Stewart and Dakota fanning when they do goo serious dramatic films.

special Vfx,cgi effects, gore goes useless the dialogs are so cheesy it makes cartoon network looks like history channel this is high time minus point this film looses it.

people are asking for a refund me too but who will listen if films like these are still coming out whatever this is Hollywood or British production it is the direction sucked big time so my question with critics and people is how dare all of you hate John Woo,Ang Lee & Ridley Scott these guys are legends and their movies are gold hey even a Tinto Brass movie is better then Kingsman any day Colin Firth was crazy for cash yes there are some hot sexy women here but wasted.

for people who want a great spy film watch Mi2:2000 or for comedy try Rush Hour 2 as for action go back and try drunken master or matrix trilogy even but stay way from this guys don't believe the hype critics are blind i am waiting for bad boy 3 Michael Bay will show these kids how real action is done.

overall Kingsman:The Secret Service 2015 is the worst film of 2015 my rating is 1/10.Skipp It save your money & time please i have wasted mine.
